Core Values
We are a church that believes in knowing the Bible — We believe in the relevance and reliability of the Bible
not just for answering questions in Sunday School or for getting to Heaven, but for every facet of our lives. We believe guidance
can be found for every problem and circumstance that we face in life. The Bible is not just a book for funerals, weddings, and
Sundays. We encourage time spent daily in God’s Word because we need God’s Word for our daily lives.
We are a church that believes that church counts — We believe that the Church is a divinely created institution
and therefore is relevant and important to our everyday lives. This is not to say that attending church is what gets us to Heaven.
What it does say is that church should be a consistent part of our lives. The local church is a place where we come to offer our
worship to God; serve Him through the giving of our time, talent, and treasure; and be nourished by His Word. We desire to assist
people in finding fulfillment in life by using their God-given talents to further His Kingdom. We desire to create a place where
people come and invest in one another’s lives sharing in life’s joys and even sorrows. We desire to have a church that creates an
attitude among its people that says, “When you miss a Sunday, you miss a lot.”
We are a church that believes in making disciples as we go — Discipleship is not so much an activity as it is
a way of life. We desire that people make disciples as they go about their daily lives sensitive to opportunities God might provide—maybe
with the clerk at the convenience store, a co-worker or a neighbor. We don’t believe that witnessing for Christ is an activity we
can turn on or off like a switch—our lives make a statement; our behavior tells a story. The question is whether our witness reflects
positively on Christ or not.
